Installation
Nexa provides official installers for multiple platforms to ensure a consistent experience on your primary operating system.
Windows Installation
We provide a .exe installer and a portable version for Windows users:
- Go to the Nexa download page to get the latest
Nexa-Setup.exe. - Double-click the installer and follow the setup wizard.
- After installation, you can find the Nexa shortcut in your Start menu or Desktop.
Tip: If you prefer keeping Nexa on a USB drive, you can download the portable
.zipversion. Extract it and runNexa.exedirectly.
macOS Installation
Nexa fully supports macOS with native builds for different chip architectures:
- Download the
.dmgpackage corresponding to your Mac chip:- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3): Download
Nexa-arm64.dmg. - Intel Chip: Download
Nexa-x64.dmg.
- Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3): Download
- Double-click the
.dmgfile. - Drag the Nexa icon into the Applications folder.
- On the first launch, if prompted with "App from an unidentified developer", please click "Open Anyway" in "System Settings > Privacy & Security".
Linux Installation
For Linux users, we recommend the .AppImage format:
- Download the latest
Nexa-x86_64.AppImage. - Make it executable in your terminal:bash
chmod +x Nexa-x86_64.AppImage - Double-click to run, or execute
./Nexa-x86_64.AppImagein the terminal.
(Note: We also provide a .deb package for Debian/Ubuntu users.)
First Launch
Upon starting Nexa for the first time, you will see a clean welcome page. The application will automatically create a configuration directory. By default:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\Nexa - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/Nexa - Linux:
~/.config/Nexa
Click "Add Server" to start your First Connection.
